Sooo delicious!
I personally love pastry cream! (As I love everything I make… juuuust kidding!)
This is just a regular pastry cream and how I make it. It’s really tasty and sweet, made with real vanilla and lemon zests to give some nice sweet and lemony flavor. You can use it for several purposes like fillings of bignés, bombolone, fruit tarts, crema catalana etc…
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of Milk
- 2 tablespoon of Arrowroot starch
- 2 Egg Yolks
- 1/3 cup of Sugar
- 1 inch Vanilla Bean
- Lemon Zests
How to make Pastry Cream:
- Heat up the milk on a pan with the vanilla bean, medium/ low flame. Once it reaches the boil turn it of.
- Take out the vanilla bean.
- In a bowl, put the egg yolks, the sugar and mix with a whisk.
- Add the arrowroot starch and mix again.
- Add lemon zests.
- Pour the egg mix into the milk pot and mix until it thickens.
- Let it cool in the fridge.
Now you can use it and enjoy it as you like.
