Remember simple things but with great quality ingredients is what it takes to make a great dish.

I love homemade mayo!

In now days society we are used too much to just buy things. If we need a dipping sauce? Get it at the store. If we need a pasta sauce? Get it at the store. Need mayo? Get it at the store… And so on.

Maybe not enough time because we are too occupied or concerned about our job so it becomes easier to just buy stuff. BUT, all of the things that we buy in stores are not pure, they are mass produced and full of chemicals. Life as to be enjoyed!

What we put in our bodies turns get absorbed and transformed in energy, so if we eat mass produced things we are for sure eating chemicals, and we should avoid them, to make our body function properly.

Instead if we use good quality ingredients, we are putting in good source of food, not processed, without chemicals and just great in their prime shape. That leads to an amazing taste of the product of our transformation!

I’m going to show you how to make homemade mayonnaise, how Italians do, without any mustard or anything else, just simple natural ingredients.

Ingredients and Tools:

  • 1 pasture raised Egg Yolk
  • 1 cup of Olive Oil
  • 1/4 Lemon
  • Salt to taste
  • hand Whisk or hand Blender
  • Bowl
  • Strainer

How we make homemade Mayonnaise:

  1. Crack the egg and divide the white from the yolk. Put the yolk in a bowl making sure there is no trace of the yolk, very important to the success on making the mayo.mayo recipe template1
  2. Start working on the yolk alone with the whisk, it will start to look creamy.
  3. Put the olive oil in a container (carafe or a topper) and pour the olive oil on top of the egg yolk, slowly and continue whisking. You’ll see that the mixture will turn thicker.mayo recipe template2
  4. Take a strainer and squeeze the lemon on it (making sure that the juice goes in the bowl).
  5. Mix well together with the whisk and add some salt to taste.

Aaaahhh Look at the color!!

Enjoy it!
